Feather AT-9 Magazines
Since the Feather AT-9 is pretty rare, magazines are hard to come by. When you do see them, they are usually more than $50 apiece. They are just modified Uzi magazines, and surplus Israeli stock can be found for about $12 apiece. All that needs to be done is cut a magazine catch slot in the side at the right point. I took measurements and used the original magazine in the mill vise to set up a work stop. The magazines are hardened, so I used a small grinder bit in the mill, making sure I covered the lead screws and ways to keep the grinding dust off of them. I milled one and test fired it to ensure my measurements were correct before proceeding with the rest of them. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of an unmodified magazine, but they look the same without the large oval hole near the top. The original Feather magazine had a square opening in the back for the bolt to pass through and the Uzi magazines had a rounded opening. The bolt doesn't seem to hit the rounded corners and the gun functions fine, but I used a rotary tool and ground the openings square anyway. Click the pictures for larger images.
